Gioiadivita means the joy of living. The charitable foundation Gioiadivita, founded by Gina Gonsior in 2008, offers projects for children and young people in Munich and Southern Italy. We support Gina's Olive Tree Project, see Link below.
The Olive Tree Project protects 210 olive trees, some of which have been rooted in 4.2 hectares of Southern Italian soil for over 300 years. The land the foundation owns is about 140 km south of Napels in the Cilento nature park, a UNESCO biosphere reserve and world heritage site. To ensure that our company contribution takes root we have taken over the sponsorship - or "Patenschaft" in German - of an entire hillside full of (old) olive trees our so-called "Paten(t)bäume" or "patent trees".
The firm olives are harvested each year at the end of October or the beginning of November, are cold-pressed and bottled on site as unfiltered olive oil of the extra virgin class – a quality that can only be obtained direct from the producer because the Gioiadivita production does not involve any industrial processes. This doesn't just sound good, it is good and healthy too.
